FAQ
Answers to what we hear most before and during setup.
What pricing can Summance model?
Usage, minimums, tiers, SKUs, and addenda for mid-term changes - without custom code per deal.
Is Penny included?
Yes, on every plan. And Penny is optional - every action she takes has a page you can drive yourself.
Can we run Summance on our own infrastructure?
Yes, on the Enterprise plan. The whole stack deploys into your cluster.
How do payments work?
Connect your gateway; payments reconcile back to invoices automatically.
Does Summance calculate tax?
Not yet natively - that's on our roadmap, integrated through a third-party tax engine rather than built in-house.
Where does Penny's data come from - is she trained on other customers' data?
No. Penny answers from your own organization's data, plus published accounting-standards guidance for accounting questions; tenant isolation applies to her the same way it applies to every other part of the product.
What happens if a usage event arrives late, or out of order?
Nothing special - that's expected. Your API key holder can send a missed event days after it happened, and Summance still matches it to the right contract term and rating period, as long as the event carries its own event timestamp. (That timestamp is optional on the API; if it's left out, Summance stamps the event with the time it arrived instead of when it actually happened, which is the one case this answer needs to cover.)
