Connect HubSpot

Summance reads contacts, deals, and companies from your HubSpot CRM so your billing and your customer data stay in sync. Connecting takes a private app access token from your HubSpot account — no coding, no redirect flow.

Before you start

Create your access token

  1. In HubSpot, go to Settings → Integrations → Private Apps and click Create a private app. Give it a name you'll recognize later, like "Summance integration."
  2. On the Scopes tab, grant only what Summance needs today: read access to contacts, deals, and companies. You can add more scopes later if you connect additional data.
  3. Click Create app, then open the app's Auth tab and reveal the access token.
  4. Copy the token and paste it into Summance when you connect HubSpot.

What Summance does with your token

Before storing anything, Summance makes one read-only call to confirm the token works. From then on, the token is kept encrypted and used only to read the contacts, deals, and companies covered by the scopes you granted — nothing is ever written back to your HubSpot account.

Rotating or disconnecting

You're always in control of the token. Rotate it any time from the private app's Auth tab in HubSpot and update it in Summance, or disconnect the integration from Summance's Integrations page. Deleting the private app in HubSpot cuts off access immediately as well.
